With the January transfer window fast approaching, West Ham United have intensified their search for attacking reinforcements. The Hammers are determined to add firepower to their frontline, and Promise David, as already reported by Claret & Hugh has emerged as the likeliest target.
West Ham scouts have been dispatched to watch the Canadian international in recent weeks, such is the Irons’ serious interest, and reports filtering back to the club have been overwhelmingly positive. David’s pace, movement, and eye for goal have impressed observers, but a potential move hinges on whether the right price can be agreed with his current club, Union Saint-Gilloise.
There remains an element of risk, however, as questions linger over whether David can immediately adapt to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League.
West Ham are weighing up whether David’s long-term potential outweighs the short-term gamble.
Another name on the radar is Troy Parrott, currently enjoying a prolific spell at AZ Alkmaar. The Republic of Ireland international has been scoring goals for fun in the Eredivisie, having also caught the attention of Leeds United and Everton. Parrott has been specifically recommended to West Ham by Will Salthouse, whose connections with the club have often influenced transfer dealings.
At just 23, Parrott offers both youth and experience, having already featured in English football earlier in his career. His resurgence in the Netherlands has reignited interest, and West Ham are monitoring his progress closely.
Meanwhile, Niclas Fullkrug’s omission from the squad for the recent clash at Old Trafford has raised eyebrows and all but confirmed his likely departure in January. The German forward has struggled to cement his place in the starting XI, and West Ham are prepared to cash in if a suitable offer arrives.
Clubs in Germany and Italy are already monitoring developments, with Fullkrug’s proven record in the Bundesliga making him an attractive option abroad. His sale would provide West Ham with valuable funds to reinvest in their pursuit of a new striker.
West Ham’s recruitment team faces a delicate balancing act, securing a striker who can deliver immediately while also offering long-term value. David represents a high-upside gamble, Parrott a resurgent talent, and Fullkrug a potential source of funds.
The January window promises to be pivotal for the Hammers, who know that strengthening their attack could be the difference between pushing up the table or facing relegation.
We cannot afford to buy a player that will take a month or more to Adapt to the premier League the position we are in and reading between the lines the bit all us fans understand is if the club can come to an agreement on the price so expect lowball offers to run right through until the end of January as the board really do not see the danger we are in and want to protect there millions for themselves.
Remember Hartson and Kitson?
Buy them both!!!
Would be nice to think we could.
Nicely swerved telling us he is ex Tottenham and Millwall. Well done.
This is the sort of player we should be gambling on, even if worst things happen and we get relegated he is likely to be an asset in the Championship. Seeing what Brobbey is doing at Sunderland as an impact sub demonstrates why we should be taking low cost punts on these players. If nothing else he is big enough to cause problems for defenders outside of the goals he might or might not score and that is useful.
