CandH Exclusive: DS pledge after ticket chaos

phone2David Sullivan has sent a personal apology to fans hit by the telephone booking line chaos as they tried to buy tickets for the Liverpool FA Cup replay.

ClaretandHugh brought various issues to him – notably that one person had spent nearly four hours on the phone and still hadn’t managed to buy a pair.

@NeilTidd1969 had complained bitterly after his wife failed to book his ticket despite spending four hours on the phone. The telephone bill for his call is reproduced here.

Others were caught up in the problem and the chairman has reacted quickly to make it clear he is moving fast to solve the problem.

Speaking only to ClaretandHugh he said: “We have to learn we realise the service to supporter in this instance hasn’t been good enough

Phonebill“Things will massively improve in the Summer as we move to the OS with increased capacity re buying tickets on line and over the phone.”

The problem was caused largely by the prices being charged for the Liverpool game and the club has paid a heavy price.

The booking facility on the phone and on line couldn’t cope as eight thousand people tried to book. The system simply couldn’t handle demand.

But Sullivan pledged: “It will be better at the OS and we are sorry.”

Fans are advised that in future they will be better off attempting to buy their tickets under the present system software by landline.

  1. just bought my tickets for Marks Testimonial , took 10 minutes 🙂

  2. When I read the headline I thought I was going to read that the club were actually doing something for the fans who had to tolerate this debacle.

And why does moving to a bigger and newer ground make a difference to ONLINE sales?

  3. West Ham’s online booking system is pathetic – whoever designed that shambles should be shot – it’s an antiquated disaster!
