CandH Exclusive: Hammers in new manager struggle

Benitez – No serious Hammers interest

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

West Ham are unable to attract a manager to the club immediately or before the end of the season on a short term deal in a bid to save them from relegation.

Any thoughts that they can insert the man they want to save them from relegation with an out clause included should he fail are dead in the water.

And right now Claret and Hugh understands only two are available with both looking for a three and a half year contract into the bargain should they be approached – Rafael Benitez and Marcelo Bielsa.

Hammers have hopes

The Hammers have little interest anyway in either having seen the former Liverpool boss turn them down at the last minute a few years and considered another defensive coach anyway.

Bielsa, meanwhile, was rejected ahead of the club appointing Slaven Bilic with  the board being unimpressed and the former Leeds boss having no command of English.

Bielsa – No Hammers interest at all

The Hammers therefore are forced to stick with Moyes for the time being but may be hoping that Chelsea’s floundering head coach Graham Potter could soon become available.

They chose to reject the chance of taking Sean Dyche and with the manager market currently empty of guys who could be worth a three year punt find themselves with no options.

As a short term give it to Paul Nevin and Kevin Nolan. Hopefully this will then give Will Still time to get his coaching badges then bring him in.

Sorry just sack Moyes and put Nevin in charge.
Ring back Harry. It’s a ridiculous statement we just need someone who will give the players belief and confidence. Ridiculous the players need him out. You are just seeing all the cryptic messages appearing. Tgd players have lost all respect for him.

First, the story back then was that Benitez agreed to come and then asked out when Madrid came calling. Furthermore, it was reported and repeated even a few years ago that Benitez was very thankful that we didn’t hold him to the agreement. So to say now that he spurned us isn’t accurate. Unless the stories back then were nonsense. Cannot have both.

As for the current mess we are in, why on earth SHOULD any manager take a three month job? What on earth are they thinking? That’s why they have four relegations on their CV.

Given that Nevin is also behing Englands rather unimaginative approach to football I’m not convinced that would make much difference. Harry would be interesting though as long as it was short term. Unfortunately the board have procrastinated to long and if they really believe that Moyes can turn it round it shows how little they know about football. We would be better off with no manager rather than Moyes

Probably the board(Sullivan)are hanging on with Moyes because they don’t want to pay him off.
On another subject i tried to post this yesterday on my iphone but couldn’t because i kept getting reCAPTCHA error. This is happening quite frequently.
