Manchester City are playing serious hardball with West Ham as they bid to bring Kelechi Iheanacho to the London Stadium this summer.

Reports arose on Sky Sports that the player will undergo a medical to finalise the transfer after City accepted a £24 million bid from the club.

But a senior source at the LS admitted to ClaretandHugh this evening that City are refusing to even give us price for the striker at this stage.

Iheanacho came through the City youth programme, but  his playing time was limited during the 2016/17 season with  Pep Guardiola preferring Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus.

Last season, the Nigeria youngster flourished under Manuel Pellegrini in his breakthrough campaign and he was duly rewarded with a contract extension.

Discussing the Sky Sports report we were told: “No deal has been done. It’s not true but we do like the player and we are trying to buy him but we can’t even get a price.”

I think i will just wait & see one way or the other. All these sources get on my tits.Maybe the source doesn’t want to tell the truth just in case another source passes it on to his top source at another club. And then we have sources all trying to out do each other in sourcieness.Dont think thats a word actually 😁

Considering its ment to be rubbish that Nigerian site have gone into a lot of detail about a false story.Fee,medical in france,a two year buy back option. They either live in fantasy land or know more than the source wants to let on lmao

Find myself agreeing with Travis here . Seems like a lot of detail for a rumor .
There are a lot of sources out there though , far too many probably .
Great to see the Zabaleta deal has gone through . Some positive stuff from West Ham so early in the window is promising . Getting Valencia back would be a boost in my opinion .
Never really understood loaning him out in the first place . Hopefully Carroll & Sakho can get back to full fitness and give us a full season ( two free signings right there ) , if the training methods are set up correctly . Maybe now , we shall have players in the right positions for a change . That would go a very long way to improving our performances .

I don’t know anything about this player. Is he good? or is he one of those Nigerian prince’s that I use to get emails from?

  • johnham1 says:

He is not what we need, I rate Ayew higher than this guy and that says everything. I don’t like us being linked to him, he has not proved himself. If he was a loan to buy then I can understand but to spend 20+ million on a player who has simply not done it in the premier league is terrible business. I wonder who is looking at these games and making these recommendations. I like the Zabaletta signing, is proven premier league.

  • Travis says:

If you say so Johnham1.I suppose everyone is entitled to an opinion even if yours does fly in the face of most people in football who know what a talent he is.

  • indelec says:

Johnham1 buying a 20 year old striker with his ability is a great option, you would prob have Defoe who wants a tasty pay cheque in his last years whereas we can get this kid on reasonable wages an he could be worth 80 mill in 2 years time with regular game time, Zac is not a good buy our back line will be the oldest in any pro division of English football, we need pace and desire in the team the players we signed last season were terrible should be playing Oxford and obiang together as a cover in front of back 3 next season with Antonio kouyate lanzini a new left winger with pace and goal scoring ability and then a player like inacheo up front, bilic plays counter attack football, we had no pace last season unless we played Antonio as cf, it was obvious straight from warm up games that we were going to struggle with the signings we made. Need a quick centre back to play right with Reid controlling in middle and Oggy left, with the two protecting in front of them it would allow all four midfielders and striker to counter quickly an in numbers
