CandH Exclusive: Irons told REAL reason for Vienna ban

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

West Ham have discovered the REAL reason why they have been hit with an away ban on their supporters attending the away match against Rapid Vienna.

And it boils down to the activities of 150 fans who stormed the gates at Genk without tickets.

The Hammers had written to Uefa seeking reasons for the ban and what they could do about the situation but have had it made clear the penalties stand.

They were told that the reason lies with 150 supporters who stormed the gates at Genk and forced stewards to open them.

Uefa have made it clear that they intend to enforce the ban and it is now the case that if such trouble continues in the future all away support will be banned.

This now becomes a very sad day for the team, club and innocent REAL supporters.

They have killed it for everyone and there is no defence for their activities.

  1. We cannot defend the indefensible ( alleged storming of the gates).
My question to Genk FC, is why wasn’t the away ticket allocation increased to meet the demand, especially when the home supporters didn’t take up their full quota and the stadium appeared, at best only two thirds full on TV?

  2. Once again a minority of idiots spoil it for the majority of well-behaved fans

  3. This explanation does not add up and leaves many questions unanswered:
    1. Why did not UEFA give this as an explanation at the time?
    2. Why did it take UEFA so long to make a decision?
    3. Why was this incident not reported by the MSM? After all, news outlets love to report football hooliganism abroad.
    4. Why were Hammers fans at the ground not aware of the incident? If 150 fans had forced their way into the away end It is not unreasonable to assume that fans already in the ground would have noticed. If it was the home end surely disturbances would have been noticed.
    5. Where’s the CCTV evidence?
    6. How come there’s nothing on social media? Were the 150 fans sworn to secrecy?
    7. Why was the club not made aware of the incident?

UEFA should provide evidence to back up their explanation otherwise this stinks!
