CandH Exclusive: Moyes gets first warning on his position

David Moyes has received his first warning that his position as manager may not be as safe as the general media has been led to believe.

A multitude of stories have appeared over the last few days claiming the board has no intention of sacking him.

Indeed, Claret and Hugh had been told the same as results went downhill but key insiders have made it clear to us this evening that things cannot go on as they have been without a reaction.

Nine defeats at Premier League level are clearly unacceptable to the board – as they are to everybody else – but they are ready to give him a little more time because of the credit he has put in his own and the club’s bank over the past couple of seasons.

One report from 90 Minutes says that agents of various managers had been in touch with the Hammers board promoting their clints’ claims.

But we were told by a key source : ” That is a made-up story but everybody knows that results and performances have to improve. That is a given.”

  1. It’s not just Moyes Hugh , the players are nowhere near their best look unmotivated . Where do we go from here , drop players not performing or drip Moyes . The reality is the players should be doing more and respect the fans . They need to sit down t together and work it out . We need to come back as a united manager and team , sort it out lads . Honestly it’s not good enough . ⚒

    • There is only one person to blame and the blame does not lie with the players. Moyes’ decisions have totally destroyed the team and have affected the players, their performances and the teams performances. It is so clear that even the dogs on the street know it. He has to be sacked before or it jeads to a player and dan revolt. I really hope the players are communicating their frustrations to the board. The only reason I hope he has not been sacked by now is that we are finalising our no 1 target. Let nobody fool themselves under Moyes leadership we are heading for relegation.

      • Johnham you are very quick to knock Moyse on every turn given to you. You are supposed to support you manager and team yet you let fly at every given opportunity. Of course a lot of the blame is also the players but some also with Moyse but he must change certainly the subs issue which we can all see, we have the players its getting the best out of them that matters NOT giving our manager a hard time at every given opportunity. of course he wants to win no matter what but he needs the support of our fans. i remember a certain John Lyall didnt do so well at some point also before him Ron Greenwood and then had a way of bringing attractive football to us. we have to remember we have history and as much as i would like us to be in the top 4 it aint gonna happen just like that the players have to take responsibility as well do not make the mistake of taking it out of a manager who wants to win. he was fergies manger of choice for a reason and even fergie didnt do good at first

  2. Moyes – stop the 4-2-3-1 now. The reality is Bowen goes forward up a blind alley, the striker is alone and no flow through midfield. Transition choked. The players we have seem suited to a back three with wingbacks and one DCM. Then in transition at least the w/backs push up to strengthen and widen midfield. The midfielders push through the middle and link the striker in quicker. Create options not block them off. If you carry on as we are we will be relegated, end of.

  3. Get rid of Moyes and the players continue to underperform under a new manager. What then? Do we become one of these clubs that has a new manager every six months and still end up going backwards?

  4. It’s not just Moyes. The issue of gameplay and tactics is with Nevin. It’s his negativity that is stifling our creativity.

Dear Board members, if you want to get rid of Moyes, also get rid of Nevin ASAP. He’s the root of the problem.

Get the players into a 4 4 2 and see how much freedom they have to run with the ball. We are too predictable in our game play, too pedestrian. So negative. We need this change of formation ASAP and earlier substitutions.

Let’s get that fearless West Ham back from 2020! At the moment the players are clearly unhappy with the tactical game play – but dare not question it. Negative Nevin is to blame, as well as David Moyes for our drop in form.
