CandH Exclusive: Paqueta and Bowen face scans
West Ham were hit by two major injuries against Bristol City with Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen facing scans tomorrow (Mon).
The Hammers have been fortunate in remaining clear of too many injury issues so far but were hit by problems to both Paqueta again this afternoon and a late problem with Jarrod Bowen.
Fortunately the only game on hand between now and the 21st of the month is an unwanted replay at Ashton Gate after the draw at the London Stadium this afternoon.
But both players face scans after Lucas suffered a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of the Brighton game – a tendon problem at the back of his knee whilst Jarrod twisted his ankle at the end of the game.
Our source explained: “Hopefully, neither will prove serious but scans are an automatic response once players suffer such problems.”
It was a surprise to see Paqueta on the pitch at all after his injury but he looked fine until soon after collapsing after a beautiful assist for Bowen’s goal.
That the issue should recur after he was cleared by the club medics may be worrying but our source refused to comment on that until the club receives the scan results.
