CandH Player Watch: Marko Arnautovic

In our Player Watch series, CandH’s man Danny Danielli Leach takes a look at Marko Arnautovic’s display against Arsenal, in what might well have been his last game in Claret and Blue!

0 – Service as normal, he applauds the Hammers faithful in the East Stand as always before kick off

17 – Runs on to a through ball down the right wing from Zabaleta and he fires in a cross which goes straight into the hands of Leno.

20 – Fails to head the ball after it’s launched forward by Fabianski.

28 – Plays a quick one two with Nasri on the right side of the box but his shot is blocked

45 – Lazily caught offside when Anderson played the ball to him in the box

67 – Holds the ball up but loses it quickly and gives away a foul after knocking over Torreira

70 – Arnautovic is substituted for Carroll and applauds the fans and puts both hands in the air as he is coming off. Is it a thank you or goodbye?

Verdict – 5.5 –

He struggled to have a major impact on the game as his team mates struggled to find him but at times he made himself anonymous.

There was some good moments throughout the game with him linking up with the midfielders in good positions and at times he held the ball up well.

But more is expected when we know how high his standards are. Was he unsettled? Maybe.

  1. Sell him, a distraction for the rest of the squad.
