CandH Poll: Landslide beckoning on standing issue

|

olympic-stadium-and-west-ham-badge-pic-pa-391417952West Ham fans are telling those who refuse to sit down during games at the London Stadium to obey the rules and park their bums immediately.

ClaretandHugh has today run a poll which declares:ย “The issue of standing fans in the London Stadium rumbles on. Should those who are on their feet sit down or not in order to get the capacity up to 66k?”

With just over 1,000 votes cast the response is becoming a landslide in favour of those who want to see the persistent standers to sit.

A few minutes ago a total of 794 fans or 79.34 per cent said they wanted them to do so with just 176 (17.65 per cent) voting to carry on standing.

The issue has been causing problems among fans with the club having claimed that season tickets are under threat if the standing doesn’t come to an end.

It’s like Brexit all over again, people vote and think ‘what have I done?’ – I’ve never liked Referenda or Polls – mainly because I seem to end up on the losing side!

I thought you wanted people to sit MM the poll is that 80% want that.

  • Hitchin Hammer says:

Absolutely farcical poll and the results as entirely as expected and prove nothing. If we scaled this up to the stadiums capacity it would mean roughly 10,000 people want to stand, basically the BML & STBL and the side bits that touch these two (where the standers where forced to buy upon the migration for a comparable view). If you took a poll of say the BML the standing % would be >90 I guess and visa versa for the upper tier. No one is asking for 100% or even 50% standing, Iโ€™m sure people (standers & sitters) would be quite happy with the 17.65% in your article, just as it was at the Boleyn. We just need the areas cleared up, and to be fair anyone expecting to sit in the BML is clearly mad, itโ€™s an โ€˜expect to be standingโ€™ area at least, just like if you go upper tier expect to be seated. Common sense. Hugh – I like you but this poll is smoke n mirrors.

  • johnboy says:

Good point HH but put to the wetties it was more smoke on the water ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Tone says:

I don’t think a poll on football forum is anything to get in to a lather about Hitchin.People vote, two hours later it’s forgotten about
