The draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup is set to take place tonight, Wednesday, August 14th.

It’s expected to start shortly after the conclusion of the Leeds United vs Middlesbrough match, which kicks off at 8pm BST.

Look out for the ‘West Ham United’ ball in the draw – number 22.

A host of Premier League teams will enter the competition at this stage after first-round upsets put Fleetwood, Harrogate and Colchester in the hat for a potentially plum tie.

The top-flight clubs not competing in Europe will be placed into the regional draw, divided into a northern and southern section.

This is when we’ll find out who West Ham will face in the next round. With those shock results from the first round, there could be some exciting matchups in store. And frankly, who could blame Lopetegui for targeting a Wembley appearance in his first season?

With no European football to distract the Irons, The Carabao Cup offers West Ham United a real opportunity to create some magic. Trip to Wembley, anyone? It could all start tonight…
