Frank McAvennie has led the chorus of stunned amazement at the circumstances under which the Carabao Cup quarter Final draw was conducted.
After a delay to the planned live event on TV because of apparent technical problems, the draw was pre recorded and released via the media.
Now come on that’s not great particularly when the final four matches amazingly saw none of the top four clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea or the two Manchester clubs drawn against each other!
Now there’s no suggestion that there’s anything awry but Supermac clearly wasn’t happy with the way the sponsors had mishandled the whole affair.
He was quickly out on Twitter declaring:
Here’s a suggestion Carabao. You wanna grab a handful of credibility back – how about contacting one of the thousands of radio stations to draw it again.
After all you did promise a LIVE event

What like the coincidence of Man Utd getting the easiest draw as they do every cup game and when they have to get a tough draw it’s sleays at home ? Like statistically they have been proven to get more wrong decisions by referees awarded in their favour since the start of the premier league era and have conceded the least amount of penalties at home in the same time despite tv replays seeming to suggest the contrary anyone may come to a conclusion that these things are very odd mightn’t they ?
With the prevalence of dodgy betting syndicates and alleged match fixing scams originating in the Far East, you’d think they’d want to be seen as whiter than white. Instead we get a two hour unexplained blackout delay, after which a prerecorded video of a draw that favours the big teams by keeping them all apart gets released.
All these factors scream ‘fix’ to the average fan, and the League should hang their heads in shame as even if it’s all perfectly legitimate and above board, it isn’t seen to be so.

IMO the right thing to do is to have it drawn live or do the next best thing and withdraw from the competition !! Its a farce , bent !! It should be investigated and re drawn !!!!

Avoid one or the other , we drew 7 times against the top bods from 20 and one of them was twice ! Chelsea !!! 13 divided up amongst the others with Bournemouth 4 times Leicester 3 times bristol 5 times man c 3 time arsenal 1 times man u 2 times ,?? Its bent lol
Bloody Arsenal drawn at home again! Still, hopefully Arsen will stick to his guns, play a substantially weakened team, and semis here we come, where we will be faced with one of Leicester, Bournemouth or Bristol City. And when the draw is made from the four of us, we will end up with Man City if this is a sign of things to come!
