Carlton Cole moved quickly tonight to clear up any doubts over his West Ham future.

Earlier in the evening he retweeted a message which in part said: “Sometimes you have to move on.”

After being subbed in the 27th minute at Everton it seemed logical to assume that he may have been talking about his next move.

But the big fella quickly cleared up the misunderstandings with a tweet that he was talking about something in his domestic life – “nothing to do with football”
