West Ham striker Carlton Cole has been charged by The FA in relation to a comment posted on social media. It is alleged that the comment was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brings the game into disrepute. The player has until 6pm on 5 March 2015 to respond to the charge.
Cole told a Spurs season ticket holder to “F off you c***” on social media following the Spurs draw.
In 2011 Carlton Cole was fined £20,000 by the Football Association for comments he made on Twitter during England’s friendly with Ghana.
I think WHU should pick up the fine because if any of us had received that tweet we would have done the same,
It’s always the same if you stood at any ground on a match day you will hear bad language
Comical remarks racist remarks agenda remarks and that’s just from the people you would normally not expect it from,
We do not live in a fish bowl anymore right or wrong football stadiums have been used as areas for frustration therapy over the years and save the NHS a fortune over the years,
I can’t understand Players getting involved with ‘Social Media’ – all they’ll get is abuse from ‘laptop Warriors’ – Carlton’s stupid for biting and deserves all he gets!
Should have used a swear filter! 🙂
Spoke to a few Spurs fans who have told me how ashamed they are of the fan who reported Carlton
I couldn’t imagine any Spurs player wanting to talk to the fan but would probably have all the time in the world for a chat with Carlton
