Carlton Cole touched by home coming

|

coleCarlton Cole seemed visibly touched by the response of Hammers fans welcoming him back to the Boleyn ground on Sunday afternoon.  The 31 year old veteran striker showed his appreciation as he warmed up along the touch lines close the West and Sir Trevor Brooking stands with 16 year old Reece Oxford.

Hammers fans broke into spontaneous applause for the loyal Hammer after he was denied his move at the last minute to West Bromwich Albion on transfer deadline day. Fans also broke into several choruses of his Cole’s Always believe in your soul, Your indestructible, Always believe in, Carlton Cole song.

On Friday Allardyce confirmed in his London Standard column  “I really did feel for the boy but it was a necessity based on what hadn’t happened earlier. David Sullivan and I had recognised he needed to go but circumstances dictated otherwise. It has been reported that Carlton had a rant at me on the phone and that was right. There’s nothing wrong with that — he was entitled to give us a b*****king. He’d just been offered a long-term deal at West Brom while his contract with us is up this summer and he doesn’t know whether he will be given another one.”

Why would he be suprised we have always given him our support and he shoul have been given the chance to move on if that is what he wanted and if BFS had not got rid of Zarate and treated him better then Calton could have moved on,
I hope when this season ends he gets his wish unlike when we released him last time and he could not get a club.
Keep being honest and reliable and you will be ok Carlton.

Never been our best player, but I love this guy to bits! Am glad he hasn’t gone(sorry Carlton) cause with our managers complete ineptitude, I think we will still need him before the season is over.

Yep,never been a 15+ a season guy often if ever even when playing the majority of a season. But no one can doubt his alliegance to us over the years.I hope he picks up a decent lengthy contract from someone in the summer. Many merecenaries in football but Carlton has always been a good squad player for us,one who never bleats & groans when things aint going his way coz he aint playing.Apart from deadline day,but he was allowed that moan up for free in the circumstances.Good luck to the lad if he leaves.
