Carlton hit with £20k fine

coleCarlton Cole has been fined £20,000 after admittng he breached FA Rules in relation to social media following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today

The Irons front man was also severely warned as to his future conduct after admitting he posted a comment on his Twitter account which was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute, in breach of FA Rule E3.

Cole was taken to task by the FA after he sent the message following the 2-2 draw between Spurs and West Ham on February 22.

Cole told a Spurs season ticket holder to “F off you c***”

The FA commission will now decide on an appropriate punishment for the 31-year-old.

In 2011 Carlton Cole was fined £20,000 by the Football Association for comments he made on Twitter during England’s friendly with Ghana.
