Carroll and Adrian say farewell to fans

|

Andy Carroll limped around the London Stadium pitch on crutches wearing a protective boot on his foot as he and his family said their goodbyes to West Ham fans. His girlfriend Billi Mucklow confirmed on social media what we already knew that it is the end of his Hammers career after his contract expires in June.

Mucklow posted on her Instagram page:  “Farewell West Ham  Proud of my Carroll boys”

Carroll joined West Ham on loan from Liverpool in 2012 later joining permanently for £17m  in 2013. He made 133 appearances for the Hammers scoring 34 goals.

32-year-old Adrian also said his goodbyes to the supporters as he waved goodbye in his lap of honour following the 3-0 victory over Southampton.

Adrian joined West Ham in 2013 on a free transfer and made 150 appearances for the Hammers.

Good luck to both of them and we hope they both find new clubs soon to continue their careers.

I think it is always sad in any walk of life when somebody doesn’t reach their full potential, for whatever reason. In my opinion he always gave his best when he was fit, & he played a big role for several seasons after 2012 in keeping us up. Some will say he was to blame for his injury record, but nobody knows how much his lifestyle was a factor in his injuries. A lot of people who slate the press when they say other stuff about the club were quick to lap it all up when it was about Carroll. Thanks for some great memories Big Man.
