Andy Carroll is sticking by his Champions League or bust prophecy!
The big striker buoyed by his brilliant weekend performance against Swansea has been talking up a top four finish declaring: “There is no limit – we can go all the way to the top.”
He is quoted across the national press as believing: “I don’t believe we will be giving up now wee are in the top four. With the team we have, and the manager, the way he is playing and coaching everyone it is fantastic. We have a great squad.”
And such is his confidence the club’s record signing took a cheeky pop at Wilfried bony who has been made the subject of comparisons with himself over recent days.
Commenting on the Carroll/Bony debate the big fella said: “I hadn’t seen anything about it but he (Sam Allardyce) made the right choice didn’t he?”
Hugh, I would love to hear from you or Sean, with the benefit of your inside knowledge, what the boards plans are for the training ground. Surely if we want to compete at the top table we need to have something better than Chadwell Heath. Is Rush Green the answer? Is it bigger than Chadwell Heath? I assume we will never pick up 30 acres beside the OS for a linked training complex given london prices so it’s somewhere around the M25? Surely it’s high on the West Ham agenda ahead of the move to OS? I expect Chadwell Heath is worth a few mill too as it’s got to be prime residential.
