Andy Carroll has made it clear to David Moyes that he wants more starts and that he has no interest in being an impact sub.
After his two goals against West Brom the striker laid bare his frustrations at being forced to sit games out.
He said: “Yes, it’s been very frustrating, I’ve been sitting on the bench and it’s been tough. I’ve been wanting to get out there and start games. It’s hard when you come on for the last 20 minutes.
“When I have come on I think I’ve been making an impact but it’s not really what I want to do. I don’t want to be an impact player coming off the bench.
“When I was called upon for this game I felt like I needed to show what I was about and try to push my way back into the team from the start.”
“It’s great to do that. I thought we dominated the game in the second half, had a lot more possession and we could probably have scored a couple more.”
We were terrible first half when we played a lone striker and that lone striker was Carroll. Things improved in second half after going with more attacking options. The reason we struggled in the first half was down to Carroll’s immobility. We will continue to struggle if Moyes plays Carroll as a lone striker. Against better teams the game will be over by half time. I don’t think Moyes sees this which is the worrying part. If Carroll is to start it must be in a 3-5-2 system otherwise he has to come off the bench as an impact player.

He’s been injured most of his contract , how much of his wages did he give back with not starting ! You fekin waste of space , scores 2goals and he’s demanding to start even though he’s offered us nothing ! Obviously doesn’t have any loyalty only the money and if Moyes accommodates him he will be on his way also ! He doesn’t deserve a start on form !

Carroll scores two goals and expects special treatment..
His header was well directed, but the sort of finish you would expect from a modest striker; the second goal was fantastic, but such contributions have been all too rare.
He did nothing in the first half, because he didn’t stay focused and remained in a central position. In addition he is very slow by comparison with most EPL strikers and is not very mobile. Unfortunately, he does not have the attributes to warrant playing as a single lone-wolf striker- certainly would benefit from playing with a co-striker.
Sorry to say, but I think his best role is as a super-sub, whether he likes it or not.
I would like to see Chicharito given more time, in order to show his obvious talents; think that he and Arnautovic would make a good striking duo, with Lanzini playing behind as a CAM or secondary striker
Agree Max this whole season he as been good in 2nd half but not in first or as a sub. And with is injury record. Not to mention he changes the way our whole team plays slows us down & him & Lanzini don’t link up well.
Scored 2 goals that will help is confidence but doesn’t mean he should star . Mist teams we needed a rounded striker w pace & play ground balls too.
We don’t have the best service for AC either secong goal was meant for Chicharito who actually pulled players off AC & Arnie but Arnie over shot that.
Chic as shown he can play more over the pitch and I like to see him up front w Arnie & Lanzini behind him & Arnie link up well.
If AC wants to go bc if he doesn’t do well starting he don’t have the crossers by this point he should be happy to be fit & used to start certiaj games & impact sub.
Moyes likes him but not every game if he goes & Sahko I’d like to see us go after Mark Uth from Hoffenheim 26yo 9 goals 6’1 well rounded CF w pace & only has 6mo left on contract could get a good deal & be better then Schurrle who cna play CF but mainly LW. We need & out & out CF if Sahko & AC or Ayew go bc Moyes doesn’t like Chic & not a lone cf.
Also Jack Wilshere has said there as been no progress on New contract at Arsenal so we should be bidding for him not Shelvey bc been for longest in years & I’m great form love to have him in mid controlling tempo & making break working w Lanzini & Moyes can have him ease up on wild tackles.
But should def make a bid new Mids more then anything
Also Rumoured that Chelsea want him & w there Crossers he would prob do better there but still be a sub whether true or not I don’t know. But Luiz & Michy could both be up for loan.
I would take either Luis is solid DM good in the ball & passing & CB. Conte doesn’t fancy Michy but has pace & scores goals on loan I w option I would have.
So not like Chelsea are relegation batllers I’d let him go for one of those 2.
But he has to be a sub for us or certain games he starts
