Carroll: “Now I’m really back”

Man of the match Andy Carroll produced  a terrific two goal performance against Swansea said: “You never really feel as though you are back until you get on the score sheet.

“The win and my performance plus the two goals means a great deal. The first goal was from a tremendous cross by Carl Jenkinson and I was delighted with that.”

Carroll and Diafra Sakho – a second half sub for Enner Valencia – had the visitors at full stretch during a pulsating second half performance.

And after grabbing his first goals of the season Carroll said it’s the pressure for places which is the impetus behind the Irons amazing season.

He said: “There are players not in the team who deserve to be and that’s great for us as a club. It shows in the performances, that’s twice we have come from behind in a week to score wins. We have a big squad and things are looking very good.”
