Either Andy Carroll, David Moyes or both look certain to be on their way from the club at the end of the season after finding themselves embroiled in a row which looks unlikely to go away.
The first team squad were off today but Carroll is expected to return to Rush Green tomorow (Wed) and unless there is an apology forthcoming for his attitude during the Man City game it entirely possible he could be sent home again.
There has to be a climb-down on one side or the other and it’s difficult to see it coming from the manager who has to uphold disciplinary standards and is a known as a tough operator in such circumstances.
The latest fall-out could bounce against him regardless should he fail or only just scrape to survival this season and were he to do so with another defeat thrown in he looks history.
The powers-that-be are already becoming nervous at his public criticism of Declan Rice and Manu Lanzini at a time when the team has managed to concede 21 goals in eight games and winning ONE!
In Carroll’s case the Hammers would be happy to entertain bids anyway but don’t expect to get much higher than £10-£12 million given his injury record.
If I had to chose, I’d say goodbye to Moyes, the poor man’s Allardyce
Looks like being a long 12 days until the end of the season
Perhaps Moyes’ problem is that on going to Man U he in fact became the poor man’s Fergie – I reluctantly manged a staff of 40 odd for about 7 years and found that praising those who did well in public and a quiet word in private with those who needed it seemed to work
The last thing we need in our current situation is to have to omit players for club disciplinary reasons
Please sell Carroll and get that clown moyes out of our club asp
Spot on Crewehammer and Razor. Carroll is, sadly, a perennial sick note. Remove him from the payroll. An injury free Carroll would be an asset to any team providing amazing options in attack. But that was never to be.
In one sense, and one only, Mr Moyes is not really to blame; you can’t ask somebody to give what they haven’t got to give. Talent, competence, inspiration and coaching excellence, for example. The owners of our Club are truly to blame for Mr Moyes. Who else bar the desperate coach or manager trying to redeem their past minor achievements would want to be associated with the tarnished Irons brand that the owners have created? Buying a club and selling the Crown Jewels – the Boleyn – while renting is simply asset stripping for personal gain. A club without its own/owned ground is no club at all, of little or no interest to any buyers. Funny that? What has been done to our club is a crying shame, a total disaster.
