Slaven Bilic is remaining cautious over Andy Carroll’s involvement at Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Despite pretty firm forecasts earlier the groin injury would only keep him out of the match at Swansea it seems there’s now a fairly sizeable question mark over the striker.
Commenting on the situation in his morning presser, the manager said of Sunday’s missing players chances: “There is a chance; the chance is small, from all of these players who are out. With Andy there is a little bit of a chance.
We shouldn’t forget that we have two games in two days. That is a very tricky period. For him or for them, it’s impossible if some of them play at Villa, it would be a big risk or impossible to put them into Southampton as well.
It would be great to mix. Now it looks like Andy might – might – be available for the game.”
It’s time to cut our loss’s and give him a free in the summer, an injury prone striker who doesn’t score goals….
A real quandary for Bilic, he can’t rely on him, he’s afraid of him breaking down again – to say it’s frustrating is an understatement, it’s way beyond that – he’s become a real problem, always managing his injuries and niggles!
If I was Bilic I’d have the right hump with him – he’s becoming a liability!
Play him we need the 3 points and it gives other another 2 days to get ready,
If he can’t start playing regularly SELL HIM in Jan he is expensive as a part time replacement and with mugs like Hippo will buy him the time is right,
We can play Antonio down the middle with Lanzini and Zarate if he can’t perform,
Enough to messing about with him he is not good enough to wrap in cotton wool.
