West Ham are making moves to bring Fabio Carvalho to the London Stadium on loan next season according to a number of media reports,
The websites of fellow Premier League sides Brentford and newly-promoted Burnley have confirmed that enquires have been made about a possible temporary deal for the youngster, giving meaning David Moyes serious competition.
It is also believed that RB Leipzig are preparing a second bid for Carvalho after their initial proposal of £10m was rejected by the Merseyside club, with Liverpool said to be unsure whether they want to let the player leave on a permanent deal.
Carvalho’s progress at Fulham soon captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, and Liverpool signed the 20-year-old in a cut-price deal last summer.
But while the youngster had a few bright moments early in the 2022/23 season, overall he had a campaign to forget and had become a bit-part player for Liverpool by the end of the Premier League .
Carvalho is a versatile midfielder who can play centrally and on the left flank. And such an attribute makes him a utility man and an attractive target for his suitors. As for how he will fit at West Ham, the 20-year-old can compete with Said Benrahma and Lucas Paqueta. Also if Paqueta takes up a deeper role following Declan Rice’s departure, Carvalho could easily fit in on the left flank.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out
Go an’ get him, West Ham…….. he’s really good
