Celtic has expressed interest in signing Andy Irving on loan, but West Ham is reportedly not keen on letting him go.

Irving has struggled for playing time at West Ham United. With the presence of established midfielders, Irving’s opportunities for first-team football have been limited.

Celtic has identified Irving as a potential target to strengthen their midfield. Following the sale of former Hammers target Matt O’Reily to Brighton. The Scottish club is keen to sign Irving midfielder on loan before the transfer window closes.

While the Irons are open to selling players to free up funds for other signings, we may be reluctant to let Irving go given the departure of James Ward Prowse. The club’s decision will likely depend on our ability to secure other transfer targets.

A move to Celtic could benefit Irving’s development. The Scottish club could provide him with more playing time and opportunities to showcase his abilities. However, Irving’s decision will ultimately depend on his own aspirations and the offers he receives.

West Ham will need to assess their options and decide whether to keep Irving or facilitate a transfer before the transfer window closes. The likelihood is that Irving will be allowed to leave once the signing of Carlos Soler is secured.
