Celtic Eye Bargain Move for West Ham Midfielder

West Ham would consider bids for midfielder Andy Irving, Claret & Hugh have been told by a training ground source late last night.

The 25-year-old has attracted interest from Celtic, who believe they could land the sparsely used Hammer for a bargain fee.

Irving made his full international debut for Scotland earlier this week, coming on just after the hour mark in a 4-0 friendly win over Liechtenstein. And it didn’t take long for the Glasgow giants to start sniffing around a player who’s been on the periphery of the West Ham squad.

C&H understand that Irving is open to a move away from the London Stadium in search of more regular first-team football.

The club, meanwhile, are keen to promote Freddie Potts into a more prominent role next season following his successful loan spell. This move will limit Irvings’ chances even further and with more midfielders expected to arrive, things will only get worse for the Scotsman. A West Ham insider told us: “Almost everyone is for sale—and Irving is no exception.”

With game time expected to be limited, the Hammers appear open to offers. A switch to Celtic Park could suit all parties.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Can’t believe that we have nurtured this talent just to give him away as he enters his prime.

Honestly I would keep him give him more game time he is still young and has a lot of potential , sometimes being patient enough should pay off, he is only 24 so he falls in the category of the youngsters he can easily take the role of number 10 and very good in scoring from outside the box , which what we need .. please don’t sell and give him a chance , he is worth to give one .

I like Irving but he’s had little chance at West Ham and I can’t see that changing. A move to Celtic I think would be right for him and right for us.

But I wish him luck 👍

Don’t know if it would be good for us.

I don’t imagine he would replace any of the current Celtic midfield and his wages may cause an issue.

I’d be surprised if this happens.
