Rather than resting on their laurels after a flurry of transfer activity, it appears that West Ham are pressing on in their search to bring in further reinforcements to the back line. Following a shaky pre-season, the defence has shown its continued vulnerability, twice conceding three goals in a manner which we thought was behind us with the appointment of Lopetegui.
After adding Max Kilman to the back line, The Hammers have continued to be linked with player such as Todibo, Costa, Soulet or Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah. The latest name to arise just today is Inter Milan’s Yann Bisseck , according to local site FCInternews. and was reported earlier by Simon.
The right footed centre back – enormous, 1 metre 96 – is 23 years old so fits the profile of a new recruit to The Irons to further blend the ‘age vs experience’ mix. He joined Inter last year for just seven million euro so the reported price in the 20 million range would be a huge profit for the Milan club, and it is reportedly unlikely that they’ll let him go for less.
In the last few daysWest Ham were linked by a number of sites including OneFootball with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez: If his fitness issues are really behind him he could do a solid job at East London whilst rebuilding his career, as he is not currently playing regular first team football at Anfield. But this one could be challenging- there is the talk of an exchange with Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon heading to Anfield.
Instead of waiting for ever for top target Todibo, we hope that West Ham will move with a matter of urgency to continue with the summer rebuild to drive the team forward.
You say flurry but it’s only been the Leeds lad that’s signed…….bassaka won’t happen..been dragging on way to long..so obvious itcwill collapse…..and all quiet with the two 30odd🙄 year old players
I think you will find that the striker has signed and the defender is imminent.
This isn’t a new name (Bisseck) Martin, has been mentioned for a couple of weeks now, supposedly Inter aren’t accepting bids for him. From the show reel looks a promising player, I think if we go hard for him we can get Soulet, if Gomez is available I imagine he would be expensive and am not sure hw is exceptional in any position, he does tick the versatility box though.
Time is running short in this cat and mouse tussle to upgrade defence.
Bisseck doesn’t want whu.
Gomez wants to stay at his club.
AWB is playing a Maguire game.
KWP looks to we hanging on for his free transfer next year.
Todibo_is Tim willing to hang on until eleventh hour?
Is it time move onto an alternative all of whom have been linked this transfer season?
