From the plethora of reports this morning it would seem to an outsider that West Ham’s next frontman is ‘jetting in today’ to sign an agreement and complete a medical: I have lost count – would that be striker signing number 54 since Sullivan and Gold took over? However, a word of caution – at Claret and Hugh we’d heard that the reality differed – and that the deal had yet to be finalised, so headlines suggesting that Brian Brobbey is a nailed-on certainty to be headed for West Ham’s ranks were jumping the gun – exactly as media sources did with the midfielder ‘deal’ over Ezechiel Banzuzi on Wednesday.

Accordingly we contacted our high-ranking source inside the club to confirm the exact situation regarding the ‘agreement’ some are reporting for Brian Brobbey: Was it true that a deal had been agreed with Ajax?

“NOT TRUE. I wish it was” were the six words that came back but confirmed what we’d understood to be the case:

There are still negotiations to take place between Brobbey’s parent club Ajax and West Ham. That’s what we know.

What we think is that the Hammers would rather a deal structured along the ‘Jean Clair Todibo’ lines i.e. loan now, buy later.

So, as with the Banzuzi claims – ‘no deal’. At the moment. When that changes – we will let you know.

So I’ll keep my celebratory alcohol-free champagne in the fridge a while longer.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

We Hammers are by now at least well used to this continuous conveyor belt of horsesh** that constantly peppers are news feeds!
I am certain we will get said striker over the line but he’ll no doubt be from the bottom of the deepest barrel of broken footballers on planet football! He might even score a couple of goals after 20 appearances but as is West ham protocol he will breakdown completely and be sold for a mars bar and a stick of gum to some Italian side, where he will of course suddenly find form and score 25 plus goals for said new team! Antonio will then return and take his place up front and we will look like the absolute amateur club we are! ☘️⚒️

Whoever we get to come to play with us should only want to come if it is going to be an enjoyable experience.

Jesse Lingard had a whale of a time when he revived his career and life by joining us for a few months. Remember those smiles? Remember those goals? Remember the lift we all got from watching the team?

The loan then was brilliant for Jesse. England calling again. Loving the game and enjoying his new friends.

Of course, it did not continue because Jesse was badly advised about money and location. Ultimately ending badly as he no longer enjoyed the life with West Ham.

It should never be all about the money. Career progression is a factor. Satisfaction and enjoyment are paramount. If anyone loves what they do for a living – it just doesn’t feel like work.

Let’s get someone in who is going to smile and enjoy the tough job of playing for West Ham United.

C&H contradicting themselves in the space of 1½ hrs

8.05am Gonzo saying a C&H source has said that we have opted for a straight loan & close to a deal

9.34am Martin says a C&H source tells them this is ‘NOT TRUE, I wish it was’

    Which one do we believe?.

You should try writing these as frequently conflicting words from different sources come in!Often within the space of a few minutes. you’ll see from the back tracking from various other sites who claimed ‘player coming for medical’ that we appear to have been on the right lines! We do our best but don’t MAKE the news, just try and tell it.

we will end up with a two bob striker 10 mins away from the end of transfer window.sullivan and co need to go before this changes.

  • Wayne says:

So yet again we tried FC

  • Terry says:

Why are we not using some of the £57 million that we’ve got stashed away to get a serious striker in,all this talk of signing someone on loan could be put to bed and a serious statement of intent would be shown to the fans

    • Kip says:

EXACTLY ,,, Because the 57 million was phantom bid ..they knew it would be rejected..but they think it makes them look like there trying….what’s the problem with an option to buy Bobby, for under half the price of Duran..they are full of shi#

  • Kip says:

🤣🤣ffs ….so much bull sh#…..is it me but i don’t see much news from other clubs that have.a transfer circus like us..its truly laughable

    • Al says:

      Their owner isn’t david sullivan

      • Graham Watts says:

All the rumours are media generated, the club have said nothing. It’s us fans wanting players that the media feed on. Perhaps if we shut up they might go and plague another club!
