West Ham transfer target Jean-Clair Todibo was incredibly close to signing on the dotted line for the Hammers.

The Nice central defender had agreed to move to the London Stadium, and all the relevant paperwork was being prepared to conclude the deal. Ligue 1 club Nice had accepted West Ham’s transfer proposal of an initial loan deal with a £27m obligation to buy, and Hammers head coach Julen Lopetegui had spoken to the player, outlining his role in the team.

It was only late interest from Italian club Juventus that turned the player’s head and put a stop to the deal. Speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh, West Ham’s top source explained to us how they had ‘worked incredibly hard on the deal’.

Whilst the Hammers were understandably disappointed, the French club are believed to be furious, considering Juve appears to have scuppered the transfer and unsettled the player without having the means to buy him themselves.

The Serie A club is believed to be attempting to offload players in order to be able to match West Ham’s fee for Todibo.

West ham are so s*** at signing players, they act slow they work slow, even a snail has more pace than the boardroom
It was obvious that the player had no interest of signing up for west ham he was just waiting for juventus to make there move anyone with half a brain would tell you that

We fans on here should calm down! If it’s a choice between us and Juve who more or less guarantee Champions league football, it’s a no brainer. Let’s see if Juve can raise the money! He could still arrive, and if he doesn’t we must trust Steidten to get someone else. This is the nature of football transfers!

This has become a Lingard / Maguire scenario.
Wasting so much time on one player and just going round in circles.
Move on and make some bids on players who want to play for whu.
Eleventh hour, panic bids, are looming

“It was only late interest from Italian club Juventus that turned the player’s head and put a stop to the deal.”

We need to move on and never – ever look at him again. Period!

More than 24 hrs ago it was widely reported that he didn’t want West Ham move, this headline reads, he’s changed his tune, Todibo so close to hammers move. Does any of your social preditors, sorry editors, have a conscience when they press the button. How misleading of you to suggest that a player has now changed his tune and is now so close to a hammers move. You definitely cannot be West Ham, because you have no morals or values. Your gains must be financial, your history is not Claret and Blue. For me you have definitely crossed the line.

    • Steve says:

You like trolling? If you read it properly, he was all set to come until Juve showed an interest. That seems factual enough for me and doesn’t relate to your comment at all

    • FrankieMacsBack says:

What a ridiculous post! Have you calmed down yet? Nothing has changed in that post, he was set to sign,Juventus came in and turned his head. It’s just different wording and more info, that’s all. Now go and slag another site off!

  • Ess_Bee says:

So! A man of his word!?
Agrees to sign for the Hammers and then reneges. 😏
We need players who WANT to play for West Ham.
