In recent years the Hammers v Chelsea games have taken on something of a refreshing ‘equality’ in terms of results. In the bad old days I’d stroll to the (old) ground, a bit like a criminal to the gallows, knowing what was coming but trying to be cheerful about the impending fate – and then watch as Frank Lampard strutted and the Blues inflicted another four – one thrashing upon our hapless Eleven.
Ignoring last years’ Moyes Swansong 0 -5, in the last few years there have been some memorable games and Hammers’ victories: 3-2 to The Hammers in 2020 and again in 2021 and 3-1 in August 2023 being most recent. So, not so one sided although Chelsea of course start as favourites.
One of Chelsea’s defenders has been busy on Twitter / X issuing his own prediction which I’d love to copy and post here come Saturday evening if we’ve worked our magic and outscored them again. Tosin Adarbioyo has posted pictures of him training hard for Saturday with the caption: ‘Bubbles To Burst’.
I’m all for banter- it works both ways and I look forward to telling him where that blue flag really belongs. Three – One again anybody? No doubt our tactical genius Lopetegui will confound all his critics and generate an Antonio hat-trick to render us all speechless.. That’s why we all love football.
COYI!
Here’s hoping for a win and seeing Antonio peeling the oranges and nowhere near the starting eleven
Tactical genius Lopetegui? Not seen any evidence of that yet. Contrary to Martin’s claim earlier this week we are actually 6 points and 13 places adrift of where we were at the same point last season, so a win on Saturday would certainly be very welcome.
don’t worry son, after the 1st 4 games last season we were total ****e apart from 1 other 4 game run. everything is as normal
