Nothing says a player is close to joining West Ham United like giving the obligatory crossed hammers on his social media page.

And that is precisely what West Ham’s prospective new striker Jhon Duran has done on his Instagram page as a teaser to all Hammers fans who have been hurriedly refreshing their browsers this evening.

The Aston Villa forward is reportedly close to signing for the Hammers in a deal worth a reported £40 million. Clearly, the Colombian cannot contain his excitement as he took to social media to signal his less than subtle intentions.

The move is sure to delight West Ham fans and frustrate Villa fans in equal measure. They will now surely be relieved to see the back of the troublesome scoundrel.

Hopefully, the move by the 20-year-old striker won’t curse the deal, and perhaps the Instagram post suggests the deal is further along than we’ve been led to believe.

He makes Balotelli look like a church goer. Good luck Hammers your going to need it. He obviously has a talent has a footballer. But also has a great talent for upsetting the apple cart. Delighted we are almost rid of him. Good luck to westham for the season👍

If you can’t spell John properly ….

  • Jeeps says:

    You have been warned

    Villa fan,

He has talent for sure, he is has said before as mad as a box of frog’s, good luck in your new venture, it will be exciting to see him play at the Boleyn (oops you sold out of East London) sullivans ground now paid by not him but tax payers.

Genuinely wish him the best and the hammers for next season, one thing for sure when Duran Duran comes off the bench you get excited, what you get I don’t imagine anybody knows.

  • Spindrift says:

Not overly worried about ego. Lopetegui and his staff managed Spain.

Whether Duran turns out to be worth the ££ who knows. We’d certainly have a better squad with him than without him.

  • Johnny43UTV says:

Common knowledge he has a massive ego and not a team player, happy to let him go and finance jaoa felix! UTV! And be careful what you wish for, better strikers available for 40 million imho

He’s a talented nutjob, I’m not sure how he will go but WH seem like a decent club who’s support will back him, so it’s win-win Villa get £40m and WH finally get a real CF. It’s gonna be fun in August, will he score or get sent off…maybe both 🤣

Sorry Joao not Jaoa 😂 it’s this Jhon thing playing with my OCD

£40m could be a bargain OR if could make the £15m you paid for Ings look like the deal of the century. I genuinely have no idea what to expect with this kid. There is clearly talent and physique there but he also appears as mad as a box of frogs … a Balotelli mk II??

As a Villa fan, there is certainly no frustration. We are making a fantastic profit on someone who could put our dressing room harmony at risk and are able to go out and re-invest in someone a bit more stable.

I expect some interest times for the Hammers … I just don’t know whether that will be good or bad!

    • Mendax says:

      Balotelli is a good comparison
Rather than develop as an understudy to a great pro like Watkins, with a world class manager and a team in the Champions League, he’s whined and bitched about game time yet largely underwhelmed when given that game time
£40 million? Yes please, I’ll drive him there

  • Smithy says:

As a Villa fan just give us the £40m and we all move on, maybe a sell on fee as well👌. All the best for the season.

  • RB K says:

Let us not forget the many knickers flashing by Lingard, and what happened .

    • Neil Down Under says:

Dear lord, Lingard in knickers. What new fresh hell has been unleashed!?
Here I am enjoying a morning coffee in Australia, hoping to see news that we’ve signed a RB, CH, and striker. That Loppy is turning us into the English Galácticos, and then this!
      Lingard in knickers.
Sod the coffee, gunna need something stronger to strike that image from my mind.
      Happy weekend all. COYI!!!

      • FrankieMacsBack says:

The poster has taken that unfortunate phrase from Gonzo on his YouTube channel. I always find it a particularly stomach churning description myself. Geo even adopted it too, obviously parroting his buddy-in-crime on HC.

    • Citrus Jay says:

Players switch clubs all the time but the way he’s gone about it with all the deleting pics nonsense leaves a bitter taste. If he gets his head out his a** you’ll have a decent player there, boy needs to grow up fast though before the league leaves him behind
