Chelsea have handed West Ham a significant boost ahead of this weekendā€™s London derby by recalling Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace. The Blues triggered the recall clause in response to injuries to BenoĆ®t Badiashile and Wesley Fofana, leaving Palace short in defence just days before facing the Hammers.

Fofana is set for a lengthy spell on the side-lines, prompting Chelsea to strengthen their ranks with Chalobah, who had been out of favour at Stamford Bridge but found game time at Selhurst Park this season. Ironically, Chalobah was linked with a move to West Ham last summer before we opted to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice.

New West Ham boss Graham Potter will be pleased with Palaceā€™s defensive setback, especially as the Irons gaffer hopes to welcome Crysencio Summerville back from injury following his knock in Potterā€™s first game in charge against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.

Palace are a good side, well coached and rich form.
West Ham (Despite the improvement under new coach GP) still look under-manned, short on athleticism and creativity.
I’d take the point at this stage.

With confidence growing after beating Fulham with Potter in charge and the return of Summerville , Iā€™m very optimistic we will beat Palace

  • Frank Reed says:

Palace are proving a very difficult side to beat right now
