“West Ham United’s January transfer planning has intensified as the club attempt to address growing concerns during a difficult Premier League campaign, and they’ve made enquiries for Chelsea duo Filip Jorgensen and Axel Disasi“
Are either of the two an improvement over Max Kilman and Mads Hermansen? On balance – not likely.
But -delve deeper into the report and it seems unlikely that there’s business to be done between the two London clubs:
“West Ham have contacted Chelsea to ask about the availability of Jorgensen, who is currently serving as back-up to Robert Sánchez. However, the Hammers were informed that the 23-year-old is unlikely to be available during the January window”. Good, move on please. Next!
And as far as Disasi is concerned? He still, apparently, isn’t keen on coming to east London. In any case:
“Chelsea are understood to be cautious about allowing multiple defensive departures during the same window.”
Which suits the Hammers just fine. Better one of the thirty something stalwarts like Dier or Pinnock than Disasi, a Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ defender who chose to sit outside the Chelsea squad for half the season rather than leave the club that doesn’t want him anymore in search of first team football.
Simply put, the Hammers have to do better. Players who are up for the fight.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but at least a 30 something Dier will fight for the ball and his place.
They are ducking and diving to find cheapest option.
Wouldn’t think relegation is just round the corner.
Putting their life line on two aged c/bks with injury history.
Won’t pay going rate for Cresswell or Gabriel and expect miracles.
Might as well throw in the towel now and just admit defeat.
These alternatives are a waste and should be concentrating on improvements.
Disasi has already turned down whu.
What happened to players who don’t want to be here not wanted.
As for Jorgenson don’t need another goalkeeper.
Just settle for playing academy players then Nuno will have his excuses.
I’ve heard Disai is as bad as Killman and his nickname at Chelsea was Disai-aster
Make up your mind Martin. Only a week ago you said ‘ticks the box of anyone other than Kilman’ when it came Disasi.
