“West Ham United’s January transfer planning has intensified as the club attempt to address growing concerns during a difficult Premier League campaign, and they’ve made enquiries for Chelsea duo Filip Jorgensen and Axel Disasi

Are either of the two an improvement over Max Kilman and Mads Hermansen? On balance – not likely.

But -delve deeper into the report and it seems unlikely that there’s business to be done between the two London clubs:
“West Ham have contacted Chelsea to ask about the availability of Jorgensen, who is currently serving as back-up to Robert Sánchez. However, the Hammers were informed that the 23-year-old is unlikely to be available during the January window”. Good, move on please. Next!

And as far as Disasi is concerned? He still, apparently, isn’t keen on coming to east London. In any case:

“Chelsea are understood to be cautious about allowing multiple defensive departures during the same window.”

Which suits the Hammers just fine. Better one of the thirty something stalwarts like Dier or Pinnock than Disasi, a Chelsea ‘bomb squad’ defender who chose to sit outside the Chelsea squad for half the season rather than leave the club that doesn’t want him anymore in search of first team football.

Simply put, the Hammers have to do better. Players who are up for the fight.
