Chelsea injury blow ahead of Hammers

|

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Antonio Rudiger could miss this weekend’s clash with the Hammers.

The Germany international was not in the squad when the Blues played Arsenal on Wednesday, a game that Chelsea lost 4-2.

Tuchel confirmed after the game that he does not expect Rudiger to return for the clash with the Hammers, a game which has turned into something of a must-win for the Stamford Bridge club.

Per the London Evening Standard, the manager said: “Not good, I don’t think he will play against West Ham.”

Chelsea have been in remarkably inconsistent form and have lost two of their last three games in the league, being beaten by both Brentford and the Gunners but thrashing Southampton in between those two games.

The Hammers were not exactly boosted by the result on Wednesday, with the Gunners now five points clear of the Hammers, having played one game fewer than David Moyes’ side.

The Irons have injury problems of their own this weekend, with Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma, and Issa Diop all out.
