West Ham United‘s hopes of signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa have been boosted by The Midlands club’s reported interest in Nicolas Jackson. The Hammers have been pursuing Duran for several weeks, but a move has been contingent on the club’s ability to offload players to create space in Julen Lopetegui’s squad.

If Chelsea decides to sell Jackson to Villa, it could increase the chances of Duran becoming available, as it will push Duran even further down the pecking order behind him and Ollie Watkins. This would be a positive development for West Ham, as Duran looks like the type of mobile striker the club need.

The Columbian scored against the Irons on the opening day of the season, then gestured that he was staying at Villa. However, football is a fickle business and only days before he was making the crossed Hammers sign.

Hammers need to offload two or three players within the next 48 hours or so. The club has been linked with several potential departures, but it remains to be seen if we will be able to successfully complete these deals in the next couple of days.
