Chelsea have turned down an offer from West Ham to take Ross Barkley on loan.
Chelsea have a limited squad and Barkley has started the last two games scoring in the 2-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest on January 5th and starting the following game in the 3-0 win at home to Burnley .
A senior club insider told Claret and Hugh “Chelsea won’t him loan him out at the moment but things may change later in the transfer window”
David Moyes bought the 26 year old the youth ranks at Everton and is said to be keen on a reunion.
Barkley has been limited to seven Premier League appearances this season mostly through injury and West Ham hopes the prospect of more regular game time could persuade Barkley to push for a move that would aid his England chances.
Barkley was pictured being escorted to a cash machine by police in order to pay an irate taxi driver in his hometown of Liverpool in September, the night before he was due to train with the team.
He was also filmed dancing topless in a Dubai nightclub in November during a club-approved holiday during an international break.
As I’ve said on a previous blog Hugh its mad how many clubs wait till the last hour of the last day of the window including West Ham two weeks from now ? When looking at our latest injury news we could do with players being brought in now to cover 3 league games and a Fa cup tie in that time frame but no I bet we wait till the last minute of the last day why?????
Loans Loans Loans? They wouldn’t buy Dendocker he’s a success at Wolves? Give Moyes’s the money to buy Sander Berge before spuds or another team take advantage, then maybe get a right back (Zabaleta coming unfortunately to the end of his time as is Noble) and then get a decent back up forward maybe on loan but we do need to replace Noble and Zabaleta eventually ?? Come on the board you know it makes sense not just me but everyone and his brother can see this why can’t they????
Dusty we can all see this, I assume the board see this but back to the old problem no strategy buy Allen and not not Berge or some other young hungry player. I would prefer to sign nobody than sign rubbish or players that are past it with PL experience. Moyes wants PL experience, clueless. Just buy 1 top player at least you have the fans back on side, and then support this with a couple of good loans with options to buy.
Would it be a god idea to wait until the end of the window? Nobody has bought anybody much yet
Thankfully they did. I have lost all faith in this manager already despite two wins. He thinks Cresswell (5m player) is a better player than Diop (50m player) in our back 3, now he thinks Barkley is a box to box midfielder, we do not need another flair player or a 10. We need a box to box midfielder. Seemingly he has a bid in for Allen if reports are true. A player with no pace or no power, not a box to box player, Moyes, lets be clear we are losing faith in you day by day Gedson Fernandez chose Spurs because of the calibre of manager. We have a poor manager and a club been run by people who have very little money and even less footballing knowledge as highlighted by the Randolph signing. A terrible recipe.
Loans,Loans ,loans. No money again and looking for players to help us get out of a scrape because a balanced squad has not been built. Will never change whilst Sullivan keeps dipping his oar in with buying and selling.
Sounds ideal .
Injured and party animal. AC mk 2!!
Sometimes wonder if anyone is suitable for WHUFC
It seems fairly obvious though on this account that this would be a bad invstment
