West Ham travel across London for the Chelsea derby tonight in search of a long-awaited win at Stamford Bridge:  West Ham have won just one of their last 18 away league games against Chelsea. Graham Potter returns to his old club and how he’d love to leave with a point or three. The Hammers have been in the midst of their own injury crisis which saw Lucas Paquetá starting as a number nine with no recognised – or stand-in striker included owing to injuries to Jarrod Bowen, Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio and Crysencio Summerville.

There was optimism around the club that Bowen would be back for the Chelsea match after his fit fracture against Liverpool at the end of last year. So we’ve been awaiting the team news with considerable interest.

The team news is out and Graham Potter rings the changes. Here is the eleven named to take on Chelsea: There’s a debut start for Andy Irving.

West Ham United

Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Coufal, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson, Soucek, Irving, Soler, Bowen, Kudus

Jarrod Bowen returns. However, No Paquetá, no Summerville, No Alvarez.

Of course as this game progresses we’ll be posting updates on any transfer window late drama – today is deadline day so keep checking back for news!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Do we know how long Paqueta and Alvarez will be out?

Good to see Ferguson and ward Prowse. Two players potter knows can come in and fit in instantly.

Difference between Summerville running around a bit in training having had an hamstring tear and a full on running for ninety minutes premier league football match is obviously bigger than some people think.

Real anti climax and disappointing transfer window with only Ferguson on loan with no option to buy, and JWP back following the termination of his loan. But completely understand the need for Graham to bring in only players which he believes are the right fit. Good move from him to veto the Silva loan, but disappointed that he has not been able to move Ings and Rodriguez out, yet has made Guilherme available. Would love to see him get on tonight and have the opportunity to show what he can do. Really hope Casey, Orford and Scarles get some minutes tonight with the guidance from the senior players.

Fantastic to see Bowen back and Summerville’s return not too far away. COYI.

How can there be pictures of summerville training this week yet he dosnt even make the bench ?

Too bad Summerville couldn’t make it. And Irving finally gets his opportunity. He better make good use of it, now with JWP back in the team. Hopefully Alvarez returns soon too.

Not much on the bench although Ings is looks like he’s going nowhere until his contract expires.

No Summerville, Paqueta and Alvarez is a blow when we could do without it.

I said 1-1 in the other thread, I’ll stick with 1-1 but with advantage to Chelsea in light of this.
