Chelsea’s Abraham stance revealed

Chelsea will not allow Tammy Abraham to leave the club unless they manage to bring in a new striker this summer.

Football.London reports that the Blues are attempting to strengthen their squad but that various players have uncertain futures.

Abraham is included in that, with the website claiming that the Hammers are interested in a deal to bring him to east London.

Still, the club are said to have decided that he will only be allowed to move if they manage to bring in a new forward.

The report claims that both Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku are on their shortlist of potential acquisitions but neither are very likely at this stage.

Southampton’s Danny Ings is said to be a potential alternative, who could well step in as a short-term option ahead of the Blues making a huge bid for either Haaland or Lukaku next summer.

If Ings comes in, the dominoes could fall and the Hammers may be able to snaffle Abraham away, but as it stands, that seems very unlikely!

  1. I sincerely hope that Chelsea fail to sign anyone because Abraham cannot play in our system, he is not able to hold the ball up.

  2. Not someone else were going to sit around waiting for. Time to move on. Or else be left short again. To end up without at least one more quality striker to help Antonio would be disgraceful. And what worries me is i can see it happening.Absolutely no excuses. That would surely finish any real challenges next year.

  3. I’d rather we signed Danny Ings.

    • I’d go for Danny, too.
Not sure if TA’s price tag of 30-35 m£ is decent, but 130 k£/w salary is out this world.

  4. If we have that sort of money available, we should be going for Abdallah Sima, Adam Hlozek, or even Adama Traore. And if Abraham is seriously looking for wages of 100k+ than I say don’t even look in that direction and let him rot at Chelsea

    • 200% agree all day. Sima & Hlozek Have so much potential and decent workrate. Coming from the land of Chech, they would be hungry to succeed and have Cofual and Soucek to guide them. I hope they are in the background making this happen and we have been linked for a while

  5. I personally hope we go for Traore, he would absolutely thrive at West Ham

  6. I see on social media that the Russian Striker who played really well at the Euros’ has arrived in Portugal to sign for Abraham for 13m !!!!!!! A far better player than Abraham, works really hard which Abraham does not do, better technically, stronger, more aggressive and can finish from inside and outside the box. And there are people who think we should spend 30-35m on Abraham. If Moyes signs Abraham it will be a complete let down when there are so many better players out there. If you want to sign a player for 30-35m then sign a proper one – it is the one position we cannot afford to get wrong.
