Chicharito excluded from Mexico Gold cup squad

Hammer Javier Hernandez has been left out of Mexico’s 29-player preliminary Gold Cup squad.

The 30-year-old striker asked the national manager for permission to be excluded due to birth of his first child, which is scheduled to take place during the tournament, and was expected.

The Hammer has played 108 times for Mexico scoring 51 times for his country becoming Mexico’s all-time top goal scorer.

He has represented Mexico at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Copa América Centenario, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He was the 2011 Gold Cup’s top scorer with seven goals and was named the most valuable player of the tournament.

Chicharito’s girlfriend Sarah Kohan posted a tasteful topless photo to her 1.3 million Instagram followers to share the news earlier this year. Sydney-born Kohan, a law graduate as well as an Australian model revealed they are expecting a baby and they plan to have a big family together.
