Chicharito in danger of being benched

Image result for Javier Hernandez

Chicharito may be in danger of being left on the bench for tomorrow’s London Stadium derby with the manager preferring the option of Andy Carroll, Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic up front.

Rumours  have been persisting all day that the £16 million signing is looking to start on the bench as the Hammers boss goes for pace and power over subtlety and stealth up front.

And it appears that the rumours could contain more than an element of reliability given the resources  at the manager’s disposal for a match which sees the team looking for a third successive win over the north Londoners.

Whilst it is still too early to call the staring line-up – Bilic usually decides on Saturday morning – we have received no denials from our own sources that Chicharito’s starting position is NOT in danger.

With Antonio in outstanding form, Bilic making it clear Carroll is now his No 1 striker and Arnautovic having been man of the match against Bolton, it would be no surprise if the Mexican was on the bench.

For Hernandez to play it would seem that ‘Arnie’ would need to be left out so his chances at best look 50-50.

Possible line-up: Hart, Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Fonte Cresswell; Noble, Kouyate, Antonio, Carroll, Aranutovic

  1. I’ve heard a rumour that Carroll will play no part in the game…
