Chicharito won’t be risked for cup games

|

ChicharitoShirt726Chicharito is due to fly to Germany on Thursday to meet his new team mates but is unlikely to feature in the Betway cup against Werder Breme in a two legged final on Friday and Saturday.

The Mexican is already match fit after finishing his international duty in the Confederations Cup earlier this month.

His last competitive match came on  July 2 against Portugal as Mexico were edged out to fourth place in the competition.

ClaretandHugh understands that the Hammers are unlikely to risk him in either game after the freak incident with Chiek Kouyate which left him out for the beginning of the season. They is also a train of thought that the player needs to completely recuperate before the gruelling long Premier League season.

Whether Chicharito features in friendlies against Altona 93 and Manchester City remains to be seen but you can guarantee he will make his proper competitive debut at Old Trafford on Sunday 13th August against his old club.

He’s a professional footballer. If he says he’s fit to play, he should be gelling with his new team-mates.
We shouldn’t be talking about risk when a fit player plays (unless you’re discussing AC).

I am happy with him not playing in a couple of friendlies billed as a two-leg cup game

On another note (and sorry for not starting a separate thread) after the four signings that we have made why is SLav the second favourite on Sky Bet to be the first manager sacked this coming season?

If I had a pound for every time Sky Bet quote odds on stupid things…

…and on another separate note, if Celtic are genuinely interested in Snodgrass, there must be room to include Dembele in the negotiations.

I understand we don’t want to over use him and injure him but Sullivan can’t say we are going for it all league cup FA and League. Surely he will play some and if he wants to especially and if we get far in them and he is needed. Love some silver
But w Fletcher out the door looks like we probably bring in that 2nd striker we were promised I’d love Dembele still linked with Gray but for the money of not going youm Perez I very rounded striker can hold up play link up score create and has some pace offers something different then any striker we got and would pair well or be good #2.
They say Sahko is 100% fit but with a back injury like that I don’t think he will every be 100% fit then his mental fitness too. And who knows w AC if Lewin who was great sign can get him fit to play half a season I’ll be amazed. Beat use as impact sub
