West Ham United have agreed to keep the transfer fee for Crysencio Summerville confidential at the request of Leeds United.

Writing on his West Ham Football account on X , Sean Whetstone has stated that the Irons will honour that request.

It maybe that Leeds do not want other clubs knowing how much they have received for Summerville as they may be forced to pay over the odds for targets.

Nevertheless, the Hammers have secured the signing of the young winger, admired by many in the Premier League and last season’s Player of the Championship.  It had previously been reported the Irons would pay in the region of £20 million to £25 million so we’d expect that to be the range in which the final deal was agreed. Add-ons such as European qualification payments or international selection will bump up those figures.

Clearly, West Ham have made a significant investment in the talented winger. Summerville’s arrival is seen as a crucial step in bolstering the club’s attacking options and rejuvenating the squad under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Despite the lack of transparency surrounding the transfer fee, West Ham fans will undoubtedly be thrilled with the acquisition of the highly-rated Dutchman and by the continued rebuilding of the Hammers’ squad.

Having seen so many failed strikers at WHU, I can’t help thinking have we settled for 2nd choice over the Duran situation, I not sure if this is good business buying a 31 year old over a 20 year old, hopefully we will buy the 2 of them & get rid of some of the dead wood Ings, Cornet & Zouma etc. Hope we get it right this time & we don’t suffer for Sullivan’s penny pinching.

Why do people keep saying about Sullivan penny pinching? They’re working with a tight budget and PSR to deal with. Trying to get as many players we can on a limited budget
If we kept “paying up” as some Kerri demanding we’d be one or two players less come the start of the season
Everyone wanted up to 8 new players and that was always going to be tough with around £100m to spend plus any outgoings

It’s more likely that Leeds didn’t get as much as they were initially saying that they would…

what will you call it of Fullkrug is a huge success? penny pinching or spending wisely? way i see it with our fans is: if it works, Tim’s a genius. if it doesn’t, Sullivan’s a Scrooge
