‘Close’ I Deal Inches Towards Success

Another day, another inch nearer agreement. The Wan-Bissaka transfer seems to be moving slower than the queue for Stratford Station after the Europa League quarter final. At least it isn’t raining.

Apparently- and this is from Sky Sports this morning – the deal win Manchester United is ‘close’. Well, ‘No Sheep, Sherlock’. This we have known for days and it has always been the ‘price of the player’ versus the ‘remuneration of the player’ equation which has been complex.

Wan Bissaka was planning to leave on a ‘free’ next summer and get a signing-on fee of several million for his trouble. Now if he leaves for West Ham he will miss out on this and so needs a ‘compensation package’ in place. So The Irons have been trying to lower the price to Man U and pass  this ‘saving’ onto the player.

Since both the clubs need this deal and nobody else appears to be bidding, there is no reason (hah- remember this is West Ham) why this deal shouldn’t progress but at the rate it is going then maybe he will get announced by Christmas. I live in hope (as an optimist) that our Management team still have the capacity to surprise us – maybe once in a window- and trumpet the ‘new signing’ complete with crossed arms, in claret and blue by close of business today.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Deal close, deal getting closer, deal is almost done, nearly over the line, absolute bulls**t. Three weeks ago 1 player in, two weeks ago 1 player in, one week ago 1 player in, yesterday 1 player in, today 1 player in = no progress, and all the time it is about people who don’t play the game (agents, pundits and so called journalists) who cause all of the confusion and frustration for those who pay to watch their team.

At the start of the transfer window, everyone has their dream.
All owners have their ideal budget.
All mangers have their ideal targets.
All players have a dream team to join and competition to be involved in.
All fans have their wants and want them now too.
After an initial flurry of activity from the low hanging fruit, things inevitably slow down.
There are 30 more days in this window, plenty of time for Jlo and Steiden to get their ducks in a row.
    COYI!

If we get him in, eventually, can he play as a CB, LW, ST, MID.
Because we need all those possies filled.
Maybe we have to use Youth and throw them in.
We are pathetic, I hope Tim & J Low walk and send a message to the owners.

easy now, my homie. what we want is for Tim & J-Lo to be a success so the owners give them what they want in the next window.

p.s. perhaps spell “pozzies” with the z’s so as the poms understand our lingo 😉✌

Man U need to move on this as their alternative is that Wan Bissaka runs down his contract picking up a years wages and then leaves on a free.

They need to smooth the move mainly because that’s what’s most economical for them.

If nobody else is bidding and if the delay is trying to get the price lowered so that we can improve the package we give him what’s the issue? If he wants a deal that makes no sense in value to us or if he thinks coming to West Ham is beneath him what’s the problem if he doesn’t come? Is the idea that all other clubs (at least those outside the big 6) just nod through signings to make fans happy? The big 6 create these problems by paying their players way above what any other teams can pay. Then they get stuck with players refusing to move on because they don’t want to reduce their wages and face players running down their contracts. Again this is far more of a problem for Man U than it is for West Ham.
