Club insider spills the beans

boleyninsiderThe club’s official insider is back on WHUFC.com to set the transfer rumours straight.

The mystery man starts: “The Board and the manager have made no secret of their desire to strengthen the squad this month. My understanding is that the Board are committed to giving the Club the best-possible chance of achieving that target, and have allocated significant funds to bolstering the squad.”

“To that end, a bid of £20m – a figure close to the Club’s all-time transfer record – was submitted for a player from Scotland.”

The player is question is Celtic’s Moussa Dembele but the bid is likely to be rejected.

“Meanwhile, an £8m bid was made for a player who currently plies his trade in the Championship, and a £6m bid for a current Premier League player.”

Those players are obviously Brentford’s Scott Hogan and Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe respectively with reports both bids were also rejected.

The insider finally dispels Chelsea’s interest in Antonio by saying:

“There has also been some speculation about Michail Antonio leaving this month for one of the Premier League’s top six, but my understanding is that the Club will not sell their leading goalscorer.Antonio signed a new contract last summer and will be offered an improved deal at the end of the season if the outstanding form he has shown in the first half of this season continues.”

Disclaimer: No-one who the insider is so we have blacked out his eyes to protect his identity.

  1. Oh gawd no.This should get the groundhogs on whtid up in arms.It does every time he appears.Oh what exciting lives they must lead.

  2. I thought the £20m was for Snodgrass ? Dembele is a player in Scotland ?

    • Standard is reporting it as Dembele also so maybe right, certainly fullfils all the criteria for us if its true but can’t see Celtic selling him…

  3. Moussa Dembele. The young boy that was at Fulham.Celtic signed him in the summer.

  4. There has been the odd link between us and Dembele doing the rounds for the last few days.I think he is a good prospect as it happens.
Long Fella im unsure as to what is more embarrassing. Is it The Insider or the precious fans who bleat about it each TW.I mean really do they have nothing better to do than care about a bloomin gossip column. Some things go beyond my comprehension and i can only shake my head in disbelief.

  5. Lol didn’t you know that if the club do something they disagree with or dont like it should be stopped with immediate effect. All p*ss & wind some of them 😁

  6. Appreciate the irony that I am reading this article but why do we feel the need to tell everyone what we are doing and that we have ‘significant funds’ available? I can see no absolutely no point- just go about the business quietly and get something done.

    • Mate it aint no different to some other chairmen i have read in the media in the last week or two who have said they will make significant funds or a large transfer kitty available.
You really believe other clubs, chairmen & owners dont have a good take on what each of them have to spend. Its football buddy not the secret service.Clubs have their finger on the pulse of the competition thats a fact.
I read that we had bid for Dembele yesterday & he had 20 million price. It aint some new story,it is common knowledge.

  7. Defoe is a great striker, if he comes and bags some goals then I’ll forgive the lad for putting his transfer request in the day after relegation was confirmed all those years ago. Bit sad tho that our bright sparkly new stadium couldn’t bring that big name but good to see we’re being a little more realistic and looking at players who most of us have actually heard of or seen play.

Are we being with a RB? Doesn’t the club think we need one? Byram is on his way back I hear which is good but really need to bring back Burke or buy one.
