The club have snubbed an independent West Ham film produced by Hammers season ticket holder Jay Stratford.
The production which features many former Hammers from the seventies and eighties has since been published on Amazon Prime but the club were reluctant to get involved.
The West Ham merchandising department were offered the DVD rights free of charge in time for Christmas which were turned down before the media department failed to respond to repeated requests to help promote the film on their website, programme or social media channels.
Canning Town Len Films Producer and director Jay Stratford told Claret and Hugh he was disappointed with the club’s response to help promote the film but it didn’t surprise him.
In contrast, Everton is fully behind a fan-based film made by Toffee fans called Howard’s Way.
Today Everton messaged supporters saying “Help the team behind Howards Way Film move up the Christmas charts by downloading the soundtrack album and lead single, ‘Everton Forever’.”
The West Ham film ‘Everybody’s second film’ is available for £1.99 from Amazon Prime in the UK or www.westhamfilm.com for outside the U.K.
Canning Town Len has released his own Christmas Song entitled the Fairytale of West Ham set to the music of the Pogues.
Why would our owners do this ? It is about West Ham made by a West Ham producer. My little respect for the owners has just dropped down another notch.Im definitely going to watch it on Amazon. The club gets free promotion anyways. This is ridiculous and only just making them look worse than they already do.Also Everton has made them look even worse by them fully supporting a similar situation by one of their own fans.
It goes to department heads that’s why they are there. Not defending anyone – just pointing out our procedures
Superb film by Len. So true and so sad.
