Reports that West Ham snubbed Hansi Flick are not true a senior club source has revealed speaking exclusively to Claret and Hugh this morning.
The report incorrectly claimed that some weeks ago that Flick was under consideration by West Ham. They claimed at the time that Flick’s representatives were making it known to the likes of West Ham, Chelsea and Manchester United that the former Bayern Munich head coach had an interest in moving to England.
The false claim was that David Sullivan spoke at length with an intermediary about Flick and what he could offer West Ham adding that Sullivan was not convinced by Flick and his CV and instead opted to move for Julen Lopetegui after being impressed with him following talks.
We have been categorically told that report is “Not true!”
Yesterday Hansi Flick was confirmed as the new coach of Barcelona, after the sacking of Xavi Hernández. The former Bayern Munich manager joins the Spanish club on a two-year deal.
