Clue to Hammers surplus to requirements

Hammers Darren Randolph and Winston Reid are the only two existing players without a new profile photo on the official website.

It perhaps telling of their future under David Moyes that both players have last season’s kit on their profile picture on the first team section of WHUFC.com

Reid a former Hammer of the year  moved to Denmark at the age of ten, representing the Scandinavian nation at U19, U20 and U21 levels.

He passed 200 first-team appearance milestone for the Hammers in April 2017 after joining West Ham in 2010 from FC Midtjylland for £3.8m. He went to the MLS on loan for Sporting Kansas City  spending last season at Brentford in the Championship. His current contract runs until June 2023.

Darren Randolph was initially an arrival at the Boleyn Ground in summer 2015, when he joined West Ham United from Birmingham City on a free transfer.

A Charlton Athletic Academy graduate, Randolph debuted in the Premier League for the Addicks as long ago as 2007, before enjoying a successful spell in Scottish football with Motherwell.

He left for Middlesbrough after the arrival of Joe Hart in the summer of 2017 for £5m, but returned to east London from the north east club in January 2020 with the Hammers paying £4.2m for his return. His current contract also runs until June 2023.

    Reid played for Dnmark? didn’t know that. Yet no mention of him captaining NZ at the World Cup. not having a go, jut thought it odd
