Clueless West Ham and shameful Benrahma
Clueless West Ham – looking like a thoroughly poor Championship team- were beaten and outplayed by a slick and deserving Bristol City.
This was as bad as it gets with Said Benrahma sent off for kicking out after being brought down in the first couple of minutes of the second half and proving himself a disgrace to the Hammers cause
The early goal from Tommy Conway came as a result of a poor back pass by Mavropanos and the two best Hammers chances were wasted from close range by – yes you’ve guessed it – Danny Ings.
With no Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus we are a very poor side indeed – showing no energy against a Championship side who battled and fought for every ball.
There can be no excuses for such a performance and you have to worry about the weekend trip to Sheffield United on the back of what we saw at Ashton Gate tonight.
On the upside we saw a fine game from Emerson and Zouma but by and large this is another game which goes down as an absolute shocker.
Benrahma was the serious villain of the piece kicking out after a foul and ensuring we gave ourselves little chance of getting the equaliser we needed with just ten men.
He has had an awful season but tonight he was shameful – producing a moment of total idiocy to ensure we slipped out of the second domestic Cup competition.
Awful, thoroughly awful – another night to forget.
There was a terrible foul early on Ings when Williams raked his leg studs up which the ref missed. Maybe with VAR he would have at least been booked and got another yellow for his foul on Benny.
Get rid of Moyes now, at least the public saw how he stinks out the place with his dull awful play
