Hammers striker Carlton Cole has accepted a charge of misconduct from the Football Association.
Cole was taken to task by the FA over an abusive and/or insulting and/or improper conduct which brought the game into disrepute after he sent a message on social media following the 2-2 draw between Spurs and West Ham on February 22.
The player had until 6pm on yesterday to respond to the charge but failed to lodge an appeal.
Cole told a Spurs season ticket holder to “F off you c***”
The FA commission will now decide on an appropriate punishment for the 31-year-old.
In 2011 Carlton Cole was fined £20,000 by the Football Association for comments he made on Twitter during England’s friendly with Ghana.
