Cole deal collapses

CarltonCOLECarlton Cole will be staying at Upton Park after his talks aimed at securing a move to Bournemouth collapsed earlier this evening.

Sources inside the Boleyn were staying tight lipped over the reasons but some reports claim that manager Sam Allardyce had a late change of heart and wants to keep the club loyalist.

However, we understand the terms on offer from the Championship club were also short of Cole’s expectations.

And it now seems possible that the Irons will be offering the big fella a new deal at the end of his present deal.

A primary ClaretandHugh source simply said: “It’s a non runner. It definitely won’t happen. Things have changed. Carlton’s staying.

“It looked for a long time as though it would go through but there are good reasons why it didn’t happen.”

  1. Good squad player to keep as you won’t get much for 1m to replace him!

  2. I am ashamed of BFS as a manager after this episode to be honest.

Whether or not Carlton is getting on, a tad slow, not quite there or fairly ineffective in front of goal. He is loyal as a dog, and the loyalty he has shown to the club since he joined deserves a lot more than this messing about.

I think Sam forgets that this is the same man that stayed a free agent for months and come to our rescue when AC was injured (yet again) and our only hope was that useless ***** Modibo Maiga.
