Collins may be fit for Fulham

EXCLUSIVE

James Collins could make a surprise comeback to the heart of the Hammers defence for the New Year’s Day clash at Fulham.

The Wales international picked up a calf injury against Arsenal on Boxing Day but may be ready to slot into central defence.

However  James Tomkins is reported unlikely to make the game after irritaing a persistent groin injury during the game against West Bromwich Albion.

A training ground source told ClaretandHugh: ” It’s fingers crossed for James. He looks as though he may be ready which would be a great relief to everybody.

“James has tried to play off his groin injury but it caught up with him against Albion and he looks very unlikely to play. Ravel Morrison (also groin) is no better than 50/50 to make the game.”
