Community spirit demostrated with Any Old Irons

West Ham employees and members of the Any Old Irons have been checking on the older statesmen and women in the Hammers community.

Any Old IronsĀ is part of the Football Friends programme. The initiative was set up to have the opportunity to connect with other fans and locals in their community, bringing them together for fun and friendship. Those attending can also learn how to stay in touch with their fellow fans and the Club using digital technology. The project is open to any West Ham supporter over the age of 65.

Employees from West Ham supporter services and the West Ham Foundation have been checking up on Any Old Irons members during the UK lockdown and the members themselves have been checking on each other.

The private Facebook group has been hosting quizzes and other activities for the silver surfers and Hammer Arthur Masuaku checked in virtually to check-in personally the supporters promising to check in from time to time.
